![]() ![]() I'd test them with my logic probe but it seems to be faulty at the moment :(ĮDIT: Seems the logic piggyback had nothing to do with it, it just swaps between proper audio/tones at random :( More investigation is required. Next up I'm going to try piggybacking all of them to see if I get my picture back. So this told me that all the logic ICs in that section of the mainboard were possibly faulty. So I let it cool down to rule out that fact that maybe it had just reached operating temp but nope, turned it back on and the music was singing away. I then did the same with a 74LS157 and got no change, however, when I combined the 157 with the 245 those tones changed to real music! All the music and SFX were there, just no picture. I pilfered a 74LS245 from an ailing 1942 bootleg and piggybacked it on all the ICs I suspected and nothing changed. So I then decided to take a look at those logic ICs that were heating up pretty good on the main board. ![]() In contrast with the first game's modern law enforcement theme, Lethal Enforcers II takes place in the American Old West. Ok so I did the Konami EEPROM initialize sequence (hold test then turn off and back on) and though I still had no picture I now got saw tooth tones playing and the weird thing is, it's the intro sequence music! It's not quite right though since it's just tones, not samples or anything but you can just about tell it's supposed to be the music (or at least the notes being played coming out as basic saw waves). Lethal Enforcers II: Gun Fighters (2) (Lethal Enforcers II: The Western in Japan) is a 1994 arcade and prequel to the original Lethal Enforcers. Not sure where to go from here, any suggestions would be welcomed, I'll do some more looking around. SRAMs got a little warm too, as did the Motorolla co-processor. Left it plugged in for a few minutes, most of the logic got quite warm, more so than I'd expect. In this sequel to 1993's Lethal Enforcers, the object is to shoot various outlaws through five digitized stages, each spanning multiple scenes: The Bank Robbery, Stagecoach Holdup, Saloon Showdown, The Train Robbery and The Hideout. Plugged in and indeed, just blank screen, no audio pops or static. Konami's showdown in the Old West makes the leap from the arcades to the Genesis in Lethal Enforcers II: Gun Fighters. Never seen a crystal with 3 pins before! One goes to ground, another to +5 and the last to a flip-flop. Identified a crystal (I think) which looks a bit corroded on it's casing, labeled "48mhz". Checked a couple of suspect traces with a multimeter, checked ok. ![]() Resoldered the larger 330uf caps (as I don't have any to replace them with right now) and replaced two 47uf caps. Apparently it did have vertical white lines but now just blank screen.Ĭhecked over first of all for physical damage, 5 caps on the sub PCB either had broken legs or solder joints. Hi all I'm brand new here and I'm no expert (though I know a thing or two) but thought I would post my progress on this here and hopefully field some advice too. ![]()
